FAREWELL TO THE KING

What more can be written about the one and only Henrik Larsson, those of us who have been privileged to see him in action will now have only memories of a very very special player to wear the Celtic jersey. Celtic supporters throughout the world will join us no doubt in wishing Henrik and his family all the very best in their future endeavours wherever they may go.

BROTHER WALFRID MEMORIAL GALA DINNER

Last Friday evening’s event was another huge success with over 400 supporters and guests packing into the Kerrydale Suite at Celtic Park. The guests included Celtic Chairman Brian Quinn, Executive Director Peter Lawwell; Ticket services Manger John Paul Taylor, Ex Celts Andy Walker, George McCluskey, Davie Hay & Sean Fallon.

Our auctioneer for the night was Tony Roper better known as Jamesie Cotter from BBC TV’s Rab C Nesbitt, Tony auctioned off some fabulous donations including an all expenses paid trip to next seasons Carling Cup Final at the Millennium Stadium Cardiff donated by Carling. Cambuslang Travel in Glasgow donated travel and accommodation for two people to Celtic’s first away tie in next season Champions League, two framed jersey’s from the Paul McStay testimonial against Manchester United were also auctioned.

A special mention must go to the lads from the Lochee No1 CSC who have produced a magnificent mural featuring Brother Walfrid with various Celtic greats in the background, we are hoping that Celtic Football Club will find a place for the mural in the ground.

The entertainment on the evening was provided by Dean Park, the Miami Showband and Celtic’s lady of song Patricia Ferns. Thanks to all supported the event and to everyone behind the scenes at Celtic Park for making the night a success.
