CONDOLENCES

All at the Affiliation, The Port Glasgow Emerald CSC
and the Black Cat Bar in Greenock pass on their
sincere condolences to John Houston (Housty) who
passed away shortly after attending the Celtic v
Hearts game last weekend. John who was originally from
Carmyle in Glasgow was a season book holder at the
park and a regular visitor both domestically and in
Europe with The Port Glasgow Club, he was a very
likeable guy who kept himself to himself and he will
be sadly missed by all who knew him. His funeral took
place on Monday and the turnout reflected his stature
in his workplace (IBM Greenock) and among his friends
and family. Our thoughts are with his wife and young
family at this time. God bless you John, you’ll never
walk alone.

and clothing bearing the Affiliation logo as mentioned
in last week’s column. Our thanks go to Akuma
Promotions and Tony Hickey for supplying the sample
merchandise. An online catalogue featuring various
items with the Affiliation logo will be on line soon,
supporters clubs can also have the merchandise
manufactured to include their own club logos.

BROTHER WALFRID MEMORIAL NEWS

Supporters can still obtain The Brother Walfrid
Memorial Badge by sending a minimum of £1+pp per badge

A limited number of menu cards especially made for our
gala dinner are available for supporters interested in
Celtic memorabilia. The card can be viewed on the shop
section of the Affiliation website and are available
for purchase. Any supporters interested can contact

We are currently involved in producing a limited
edition full colour 64 page brochure for the Brother
Walfrid Memorial Fund. The brochure will be in all
leading Celtic stores and other major outlets on the
lead up to Christmas. We are looking for supporters
clubs who may wish to advertise their club / bus in
the brochure. Please get in touch by e-mail

brochure is sure to be a collector’s item in the

The Affiliation has fixed up a deal for fans
travelling to games that may need overnight or weekend
accommodation. The deal with The Watermill Hotel in
Paisley is for a fixed rate of £25 per person per
night on a bed and breakfast basis. Please phone

Our thanks to everyone who has so far contributed to
our fund, the collection on the match day against
Dunfermline realised almost 11,000 badges sold and
this coupled with around 7,000 badges sold prior to
the game goes to show that once again the Celtic
support were prepared to dig deep into their pockets
for this most worthwhile cause.
