HOOPS ARE FANTASTIC ONCE AGAIN

The job was well and truly done by Gordon Strachan and
his team when we qualified for the last 16 of the
Champions League by defeating Manchester United at a
packed Celtic Park. The match was settled by a
wondrous free kick taken by Nakamura and fabulous
penalty save by Poland’s number one goalkeeper Artur
Boruc. The fans in the stadium went absolutely
ballistic when the referee blew time up. We can’t wait
now until the next round after Christmas.

process of organizing a charity trek from Hawick to

all money raised from this event will be donated to
Cancer Research UK.

CONDOLENCES TO PAUL MCGUINNESS

The family and friends of Paul McGuinness would like
to thank everyone for the flowers, cards and kind
messages of support after Paul’s sudden death, in
particular they would also like to thank the regulars
and staff of O’Learys Bar Rutherglen, Jock Stein CSC
and Cleator Moor Emeralds CSC.

“Guinness” was a well loved and respected man who
loved nothing better than a few beers with his pals
and then off to watch his beloved Celtic. It is still
difficult to come to terms with his tragic accident
which has taken our friend at 29 years of age away
from us.
Wherever and whenever his friends gather to have a
glass to “Guinness” there will always be a few tears
but it will quickly turns to smiles and laughter as he
left everyone with so many happy memories,

The Hay CSC Paisley, and audience of 200, attended a
sports night, at the Ogilvie Club on Friday 10th
November 2006. 

During a question and answer segment, the guests in
attendance answered questions fired at them direct
forthright and humorous. The guests received a
standing ovation for their evening contribution from
the crowd.

Comedy at the event was provided by stand up comic
Eddie Devine, this was compared by Phil Agnew. The
committee from this branch would also like to thank
artist George Smith for his donation of limited
edition painting of the late great Celt Jimmy
Johnstone, they would also just like to thank everyone
who came to the event and enjoyed a thoroughly
outstanding evening.

CELTIC FANS FANTASTIC ONCE AGAIN 

Celtic FC supporters once again showed why we were
voted the best fans in the world a couple of seasons
back by UEFA. Although the team once again suffered
defeat away from home against Benfica in Lisbon the
fans stayed right behind the team way beyond the final
whistle being blown. The Benfica fans also showed the
respect they have for us as they cheered us on at the
way out of the ground. We have two very difficult
games coming up in a few weeks at home to Manchester
United an away to FC Copenhagen.
