TRAVEL TO AWAY TIES IN EUROPE

We hope to have some information on Celtic’s
forthcoming trips to Lisbon and Copenhagen for the
group stages of this season Champions League ties.
Celtic FC at present has been given 3000 tickets for
the Benfica match and 4,000 for the match in
Copenhagen.

all her help in arranging a granny from the Port
Glasgow area to take her 15 year old grandson to
Celtic Park for the game against Dunfermline a few
weeks ago.

A new prize winning quiz now up and running on our
website, prizes this time are the new Celtic book,
Celtic Minded 2, the prizes have been donated by the
publishers Argyll Publishing, to enter please visit
our website and answer the three Celtic FC related
question. Our thanks to the publishers for donating
the prizes.

Another new prize winning quiz will be on our website
in a few weeks time. 
George Smith who supplied the prize for some of last
seasons quiz events will once again hand over the
prize for this quiz. The paintings that can be won
will soon be on display on the Affiliation website. 

George is also in the process of producing a lifesize
painting of the latest and greatest ever Celt Jimmy
Johnstone, the painting will be going into the 7s
Restaurant at Celtic Park. George will produce prints
of the painting to raise funds for The Motor Neurone
Disease fund. Please revisit the website

Our sincere thanks go Celtic’s Chief Executive Peter
Lawwell for hosting the last couple of meetings that
we have attended at Celtic Park. The work that Peter
has put into Celtic Football Club over the past few
months has been nothing short of incredible.

CSC, The Martin O’Neill Reading CSC and The Neil
Lennon CSC who are based in Greenock. We hope to have
a story on all three supporters’ branches over the
next few weeks.

Our sincere best wishes go to Gordon Strachan, and all
the players who take on Manchester United tonight at
Old Trafford in our opening group stage match in this
season’s 2006-2007 European Champions League. Our best
wishes also go to all supporters who have been lucky
enough to snap up tickets for tonight’s match, please
remember to support the bhoys throughout this match
and bear in mind that UEFA will be watching supporters
very carefully.

Our sincere thanks go to Joe & Sarah McLaughlan and
the rest of the committee and members from this branch
for the donation they have recently forwarded onto the
Affiliation. This donation will be passed on to the
Ardgowan Hospice based in Greenock for all the work
they do each day and every year for folks in the
Inverclyde area.

FUND RAISING EVENT

The family of young Brendan Greenway from Inverclyde
would like to pass on their thanks to various folks
throughout Scotland who have helped them out in
donating gifts for an auction and raffle draws that
has helped raising enough funds for their son who has
suffered illness since his birth over 18 years ago. In
particular Gerry & Roz Greenway pass on their thanks
to Celtic FC players and ticket office staff John Paul
Taylor and Hilary Thomas, staff and players from
Greenock Morton FC, staff and employees from Amazon
factory in Gourock. Gerry & Roz would also like to
mention the staff and customers of the Black Cat Bar
in Greenock together with the Bookmaker for the night
Tanza who helped arrange the Race Night. The event on
the evening raised close to £2000 and the funds will
go forward to help young Brendan get some essential
equipment that will help him out in the very near
future.

WELCOME THOMAS GRAVESEN & FAREWELL TO STILIAN PETROV

The Affiliation sends out yet another warm welcome to
new player Thomas Gravesen who joined Celtic last week
from Real Madrid. Our best wishes also go to Stilian
Petrov who became ex Celtic manager Martin O’Neill
first sign ing in his new position as manager of Aston
Villa in the EPL.

Two delegates from the Barrow and Furness CSC Andrew
Friers and Mari Burton, represented The Affiliation at

Celtic Football Club for the full day’s hospitality
