SUPPORTERS PRAISED ONCE AGAIN FOR GOOD CONDUCT

CELTIC supporters have again been praised for their behaviour following our victory over Aberdeen.

Gordon Strachan’s side came back from a goal down to win 3-1 at Pittodrie and the large travelling support played their part.

Speaking after the game, Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell said: “Once again our supporters were a great credit to themselves and the club.

“We are delighted with the manner in which they backed the team and helped drive them on to victory.

“As ever our supporters have travelled to a game in large numbers, many from a long distance away, and the club would like to thank them for their efforts.

“It’s been a great week for the club, with victories at Falkirk and Aberdeen and a tremendous performance and result in Russia against Spartak Moscow,

and our fans should be proud of the part they have played.”

New guidelines about unacceptable conduct at football stadia in Scotland have recently been introduced.

And the SPL match observer at Pittodrie also reported that the authorities were entirely satisfied with the behaviour and conduct of the Celtic supporters.

GOOD LUCK TO TEAM & SUPPORTERS

Our best wishes go to the supporters and Celtic FC who have made the travel to Moscow to watch Spartak Moscow play Celtic in tonight’s UEFA Champions  qualifier 1st leg game.

LETTER FROM CELTIC FC

Dear Supporter,

Our records indicate that you have been allocated tickets for our match on Saturday, 11th August against Falkirk.

We hope that you will enjoy an entertaining match and most importantly a Celtic victory.  As you know this season sees the team go for our third successive title and we all eagerly await the challenge which lies ahead.

The support you provide each week will be vital whether at Celtic Park or away from home - you can make the difference and inspire the team in their efforts.  It is therefore vitally important that your support and encouragement is channelled in the proper way.

If you are not already aware, the SPL has informed all Clubs that they will take action should their supporters indulge in what they consider to be unacceptable conduct.

We should not underestimate how serious this could be.  Your support has earned the Club worldwide recognition for its good nature and the passion with which you get behind the team, let's ensure that this is maintained this season.  We believe the Celtic support is different and it’s up to us to show that.

Celtic has always been a Club open to all, since its formation in 1888.   We are a non-political and non-sectarian organisation and we ask in the strongest possible terms that you do not indulge nor encourage songs or chants or any other form of behaviour which could in any way bring the Club into disrepute.

We will provide guidance when necessary and would refer you to our website at
www.celticfc.net for details on the new rules regarding unacceptable conduct.

We retain all seat and ticket information and this season we will take the strongest possible action should any form of unacceptable conduct occur.

As a Club which welcomes all, fundamentally, Celtic supports these guidelines – in addition, any form of unacceptable conduct could lead to penalties against individual supporters and against the Club.

If you are issued with a ticket it is your responsibility to use it and this ticket should not be passed on to any other person.

If this does happen and anyone attending a match is identified as indulging in any form of unacceptable behaviour, they will be given an indefinite ban from attending all Celtic matches, along with the person who supplied the ticket.

Let’s ensure we don’t undermine the efforts of the team with the threat of sanctions, including possible points deductions, as we push for more success.

Thank you for your continued support.

Yours in Celtic

The Players, Management and Staff of Celtic Football Club
