AWAY TICKETS REMINDER
FROM CELTIC FC
CELTIC FC has reminded
all supporters that they carry the responsibility for all match tickets
uplifted from the Club in their name.
It is very important
that supporters are aware of this fact and Celtic have urged fans not to pass
on tickets to unknown supporters.
Everyone who takes
tickets for home or away matches has their details recorded against their
personal file.
In the event of any
complaint being made to the Club about the behaviour of another supporter, the
individual who was allocated the tickets will be held accountable.
WELCOME
The Affiliation of
Registered CSC’S are delighted that Celtic FC have signed defender Jean-Joel
Perrier Doumbe from
Rennes on contract until the end of the season. We would also
like to welcome Celtic’s new Football Development Manager, John Park, as he
takes up his new position at the club.

SUPPORTERS NOTES
Port Glasgow Emerald CSC

10th January 2007
WELCOME
The Affiliation sends a warm welcome
to Celtic’s latest signing Steven Pressley from Hearts. Steven made a good debut
for the hoops in last week’s SPL home victory game against Kilmarnock. More
signings to follow this month we hope.
CONGRATULATIONS
The Port Glasgow Emerald CSC members
pass on their congratulations to Lee McAllister and Donna Kerr who became
engaged on Christmas Day 2006 after 15 years of being together. Both are good
members of this branch and we now look forward to their marriage day in the not
too distant future.
HAWICK SHAMROCK CSC (STORY OF TREK
TO CELTIC PARK)
We set off at 7am on Friday with
Jim's 2 sons and a nephew and Billy
Hill leading off together with Brian
Park who had come all the way from
Peterhead to take part. in the chilly
morning air. They climbed their 4 miles
Steadily to the top of the heights,
arriving around daybreak having been
Cheered off by a crowd of
well-wishers at the auction mart car park.
Time was made up on the downhill
section into Selkirk and the baton (a
rolled up copy of the 'Celtic view'
magazine) was handed over on time
to the 4th set of trekkers at the end
of Selkirk's Bannerfield estate only 5
minutes behind schedule. On the 1st
day each of the relay points had been marked with a piece of green nylon tied to
a post or railing, so if anyone wants to emulate part of the distance then they
can!
Scottish Gas employees took the
stretches from Yair to Thornielee and from
there to Innerleithen. Walking in
their working boots left a few blisters
and passers by must have thought
there was a gas alert in the western borders!
The next pairing showed true grit, as
both Mr and Mrs Nisbet passed by
the door of Innerleithen's famous ice
cream shop, without stopping.
The family feel continued when
Selkirk's McLean brothers strode on past
Cardrona and through Peebles.waiting
for them in Peebles were the
team's 2 most well fed pair, who
despite a fish supper being digested, made good
time thanks to the supporter's club
president's dog pulling them along like
a husky.
As the gloom and a constant smir of
drizzle enveloped the remaining walkers
we finished the day having entered
the potholed roads of south Lanarkshire
and stopped to return to Hawick for a
night of lubrication.
Saturday began at the extraordinary
time of 5am at Elsrickle with the
tireless pairing of Graeme Reid and
Cammy Solley braving frostbite to
cover the first leg before any self
respecting cockerel had left his bed.
The walkers were re-fuelled at the
Kilncadzow bakery (which will now be
a regular stop for the Hawick
Shamrock CSC due to the enormous portions
served up) where Kevin McLean chanced
his luck and got the shop to sponsor his
leg. Jim's partner Beth Thomas and
her daughter led the way through Carluke
into Wishaw around 9am. There then
followed more Solley bravery as car sick
weans witnessed their parents
battling on through various Lanarkshire estates
without pausing!
Jim's brother Kenny and family
completed a leg from the Sir Matt Busby
Sports Centre Uddingston before some
heroics from Hamish Bannerman, the
wonderful organiser Scott Richardson
and Kevin McLean who all ran
almost 6 miles to make up time before
handing over the scrunched up baton to
Jim's son Keith to lead the 20plus
walkers along the last 2miles of London Road to
Paradise, arriving 21 hours and 10
minutes after we began the 81 miles then under
Our belts, we were treated superbly
by Celtic FV who took all of the 'team'
To be photographed in the tunnel at
Celtic park before a final echoing
emotional cry of "Crawley" rang out
within Parkhead.
We hope to raise 3 to 5 thousand for
cancer research and would like to
thank all of the support from Celtic,
Hawick Waverley AFC, Scottish Gas
Networks, Lyle & Scott and all of our
sponsors.
HOSPITALITY DAY
Arthur McKenna Lochgelly CSC as part
of their 40th anniversary celebrations was guests of the Affiliation / Celtic FC
at the Dundee United home match on Boxing Day. Emma and Davie O’Neil who
represented the Fife club were overwhelmed with the hospitality they received on
the Day. They would like to pass on their thanks to Peter Rafferty and Mick
Dinning from the Affiliation for organising the day for them and also to
everyone involved at Celtic Park.
